TOPEKA (KSNT) – April is Car Care Month, and with the uncertainty of how much your next car could cost you due to tariffs it’s never been a better time to keep up on those auto repairs. Even before tariff talk became common, drivers were already prioritizing keeping their car for longer when possible. According to , the average age of cars rose to a new record in 2024, hitting 12.6 years old. That could become a problem out on the road.

The Topeka Police Department (TPD) reports that around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 emergency responders learned a vehicle had driven off the I-70 overpass near Southwest 2nd Street and South Kansas Avenue. Police say the driver went through a portion of the highway that was blocked off and under construction.
