Army, Navy, and Air Force went a combined 3-0 and outscored their opponents 135-18, while rushing for an astonishing 1,506 yards during Week 1. Despite going up against underdog Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams, the three service academies performed well on both sides of the ball, averaging 502 rushing yards per game, possessing the ball for a combined 113:38, and allowing no sacks, all while committing zero turnovers.

While the final week of August marked the return of college football, none of the military service academy football teams played last weekend. That is about to change. On Saturday, September 5, Air Force, Army, and Navy will watch their teams open the season with home games. The Army Black Knights will kick off at noon Eastern time against the Bryant Bulldogs. The Air Force Falcons will open their season at 1 p.m. against the Duquesne Dukes.
