Iron Maiden in 1985. There’s big, there’s huge, then there’s whatever the fuck Rime Of The Ancient Mariner is. In translating the epic Romantic poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge to heavy metal form, Iron Maiden ended up testing the limits of the genre. The song filled up almost 14 minutes with its soaring highs and creaking, spoken-words lows, ending 1984 album Powerslave on one of the grandest notes the band have ever reached.

"We are really disappointed." Satanic doo-wop duo Twin Temple removed from country tour dates after headliner realises they’re Satanic

Twin Temple . Devil-loving doo-wop two-piece Twin Temple claim to have been kicked off two shows with country musician Charley Crockett at the last minute, due to Crockett’s opposition to their Satanic presentation. Via social media on Wednesday (July 8), the duo, composed of husband-and-wife Zachary and Alexandra James, announced that they’d been booted off the bill of Crockett’s gigs in Troutdale, Oregon and Paso Robles, California on July 14 and 18.

What was your first job as a journalist?

My first paying, recurring freelance role was writing top tens for WhatCulture. Far from a glorious start, but it was great practice.

No but, if I did, I'd write, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," ad nauseam.

David Mitchell. As a writer, actor and comedian, his wit and eloquence is second-to-none and I have a lot of respect for him.
