Yes, when I was in elementary school at my dad's law office.

How is social media changing news?

It's making it more immediate. Social media has made it possible to engage directly with reporters and news makers.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To fair, accurate, and unbiased.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

In most cases, I prefer email with a brief description of the story. I am NOT a fan of the cold call.

Why did you become a journalist?

I wanted to work in a place where I could learn something new every day.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, I edited our literary journal.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm most proud of my work, producing for David Faber during the financial crisis. I'll never experience anything like it again.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

The newsroom does not have to be your home. You'll work long hours in the early days, but make time to escape the madness and enjoy life.

Early morning before 9amET.
