Ever hear the saying, "The best things happen when you least expect them to"? It seems like nothing happens how you want it to when you wait expectantly, but when you let life play itself out, good things happen by themselves — probably because you aren't anxiously waiting for them to happen. Water only seems to boil when you stop watching and waiting for it to happen. Ironically, it's the kind of advice you get whenever you want it the least.

Today, being a lefty is celebrated, but that hasn’t always been the case. People who used their left hands to write, play sports, or eat were seen as evil and were often accused of conspiring with the devil, engaging in witchcraft, or simply being dirtier than their right-handed peers. The preference for right-handed people became clearer as tools were created and distributed throughout the world — tools designed with right-handed people in mind.

Imposter syndrome is essentially a fear of being exposed as a fraud, and it can cause significant problems with your work performance and lower your confidence. If you cannot identify your skills, talents, and good characteristics, then you may not be able to improve them or stand up for yourself when your abilities are called into question. It’s this constant feeling that you might be exposed as a fake, you might finally be confronted and told to quit your job or your position of power.
