This afternoon, temperatures will warm up into the mid and upper 80s with a good mix of sun and clouds. An isolated shower is possible. RISK FOR RAIN: A cluster of thunderstorms from the west may hold together long enough to reach the southwestern parts of Central Alabama this afternoon.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: The cold front that was the culprit of our First Alert Weather Day Monday is now well south of Central Alabama and has left us with a clearing sky. This morning, temperatures are in the 60s and 70s, and highs will return to the low to mid-80s this afternoon. If you are going to the pool today, lather on sunscreen (as always), as the UV index will be 8. Meaning, it will take 20 minutes or less to get sunburn without proper sun protection.
