Richard Blumenthal got to Hartford Immigration Court just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, the worst of the morning crush was over. It was still mostly standing room only in the lobby of the court — located in a small collection of rooms on the sixth floor of the Abraham A. Ribicoff Federal Building, in downtown Hartford.

NEW BRITAIN — A Connecticut man was killed in an Interstate 84 west rollover crash through New Britain on Tuesday afternoon, police said. The victim was identified as 84-year-old Abbott Schultz, Jr., of Farmington, Connecticut State Police said in a news release. Schultz was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro when he veered off the highway and crashed through an Exit 36 support post, police said. The sports car ended on the left side of the guardrail after flipping onto its roof, police said.

The newly expanded PWHL enters its fourth season by securing its first season-long U.S. national broadcast deal with Scripps Sports, the women’s hockey league announced on Wednesday. The agreement builds on Scripps’ decision to close last season broadcasting a select number of regular-season games followed by the entire Walter Cup Finals playoff series.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Authorities recovered Wednesday the remains of all five people aboard a “flying doctor” service helicopter that crashed on Malaysia's Borneo island the day before. The crash happened near the Long Lellang airstrip in northern Sarawak, Malaysia’s largest state, which covers vast rural and remote areas where healthcare access can be difficult. "Flying doctor" transports medical teams to isolated areas.

LONDON (AP) — Max Verstappen has cited teammate Liam Lawson's ability to adapt, after stepping in mid-season at Red Bull, as a sign that current Formula 1 cars are “numb to your driver inputs”. The four-time F1 champion told the BBC in an interview published Wednesday that the 2026 cars, with a crucial role for electric hybrid power, can have “unnatural” outcomes like requiring drivers to brake earlier into corners for the best exit speed.

On a per-share basis, the Rogers, Arkansas-based company said it had a loss of $8.28. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $6.65 per share. The auto retailer posted revenue of $145.8 million in the period.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — ST. LOUIS (AP) — Core & Main Inc. (CNM) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $144 million. The St. Louis-based company said it had net income of 77 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 94 cents per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 93 cents per share.
