WATERBURY - Two people were arrested this week in connection with a May 31 shooting at a Waterbury event venue, including a 29-year-old man charged with first-degree assault, police said Saturday. The arrests stem from an incident reported around 5 a.m. May 31 at a venue on Wolcott Street. Waterbury police learned of the shooting after a person involved in the incident sought treatment for gunshot wounds at a local hospital, according to a statement from Waterbury Police Sgt. Joseph Morais.
