(LEX NEWS) — Five people were transported to the University of Kentucky's Emergency Department and Level One Trauma Center following last weekend's deadly shooting at Charles Young Park, including three juveniles. The doctor leading that trauma team is now speaking about what happens inside those walls and the impact events like this can have on the people trying to save lives.

LEXINGTON, KY. (LEX News) — Keisha Martin, who was shot twice during a deadly mass shooting at East End Day last Saturday, is continuing to recover in the hospital, her brother said Thursday. Isaiah Barron said his sister was struck once in the stomach and once in the sternum during the shooting, which also claimed the life of a teenager and injured several others. Barron said Martin had a minor setback Wednesday night but is stable. "She had a minor setback last night. She, she's gonna be OK.

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — Two men are in custody and facing arson charges after the Anderson County Sheriff's Office says they were caught lighting multiple fires in the Tyrone community overnight. Ricky Baker and Michael Sayre of Lawrenceburg were arrested on Thursday and face charges of first degree arson, two counts of second degree arson, one count of fleeing or evading police, and seven counts of wanton endangerment.

The hospital received its first Ion robotic bronchoscopy platform last month. The technology allows physicians to reach and biopsy suspicious lung nodules at UK St. Claire, rather than sending patients elsewhere for the procedure.

SOMERSET, Ky. (LEX News) — A fourth person has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of 70-year-old Sherri Mitko, a Somerset woman, killed inside her home during an attempted robbery on Wednesday, August 12. Police say 20-year-old McCoy Chaney and three teenagers are now charged with murder in Mitko's death at her home on Lower Line Creek Road.
