Since the Family Dollar on State Street in Bangor closed up shop and the building was put on the market, everybody's been wondering what's to become of that prime piece of real estate. Today, we're a little closer to finding out. While official plans have not yet been unveiled, we know now who purchased the place. Realty of Maine agent Tricia Largay, who helped broker the sale of the building, announced Friday that it will remain a retail space going forward.

Maine State Police say a Lisbon man was killed in a shooting outside a Lewiston tavern, earlier this week. Officials say the deceased has been identified as Travis Hunter, 37, of Lisbon, Maine. An autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Hunter died of a gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide. A woman was also injured in this incident. Police have not released her name.

A Jefferson man is facing charges after deputies in Augusta seized drugs and guns from his vehicle during a traffic stop.
