Billie Eilish is in talks to make her feature film debut in an adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s beloved 1963 novel The Bell Jar, according to industry newsletter InSneider. The screenplay is being written by onetime actress Sarah Polley, who won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for the script to 2022’s Women Talking. Per the report, The Bell Jar will be produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and StudioCanal, with distribution from Focus Features.

Violet Grohl’s debut solo album has been christened Be Sweet to Me and will be released May 29 by Auroura Records/Republic. The latest preview track from it, “595,” is out today (March 11) accompanied with a video directed by Nikki Milan Houston. The song was inspired by a vintage t-shirt Grohl bought from Etsy that advertises a pay-by-the-minute phone sex line.

Turnstile vocalist Brandon Yates, Rainer Maria frontwoman Caithlin De Marrais and Wisp’s Natalie R. Lu make guest appearances on American Football’s highly anticipated LP4, which will be released May 1 on Polyvinyl Records. The project is available for pre-order in a variety of physical formats, including vinyl, CD and cassette. Yates sings on “No Feeling”; his contribution was recorded the day after the band casually asked if he’d like to stop by producer Sonny DiPerri’s L.A. studio.

Animal Collective members Dave Portner (Avey Tare) and Brian Weitz (Geologist) have emerged with a new instrumental duo project dubbed Croz Boyce and will release their self-titled debut on May 8 through longtime label Domino. The nine-track effort is led by the track “Hanging Out With a Blueberry Pop,” which is accompanied with a beguiling underwater video directed by explorer Joseph Ricketts. Fellow Animal Collective member Josh Dibb (Deakin) contributed to the album’s mixing.
