CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston Police Department has arrested a suspect connected with a shooting that occurred on King Street near Burns Lane early Sunday. Andre Ramon Nesbit, 35, of Charleston, is charged with murder, two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

(WIS/WCSC) - The South Carolina Republican Party held the second of three gubernatorial candidate debates before the June 9 primary. Six out of the seven candidates who have filed to run in the GOP primary appeared on stage: Lt. Gov Pamela Evette, state Sen. Josh Kimbrell, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, Lowcountry businessman Rom Reddy and Attorney General Alan Wilson.
