Members of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra broke new ground when they took their seats for rehearsal on Nov. 12, 2025. Musical Director Alexander Platt had already spent years contemplating every detail about the work they would perform together in just four days, Symphony No. 3 in E-flat, Op. 55 "Eroica." Platt has been with the orchestra for 16 years but said that is the first time they had performed Beethoven's pivotal third symphony.

A new show from Grey Area Productions is shining a spotlight on the ripple effects of depression and self-harm in " Every Brilliant Thing." But director Pete Rydberg said the show is still hopeful. "As much as it will be very moving for the audience - and it will talk about suicide, self-harm, and depression - the play is about fun. It's about finding joy," Rydberg said. Historic violin connects La Crosse Symphony performance with a classical master

Rachel Barton Pine recently thrilled Wisconsin symphony-goers with a masterful performance of Johannes Brahms's Violin Concerto in D major. The audience in attendance at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center in La Crosse, however, might not have realized how closely connected they were to the great German composer in that moment. The Instrument Pine plays a 1742 Joseph Guarneri "del Gesù" violin known as "ex-Bazzini ex-Soldat." It is on a lifetime loan to her by an anonymous benefactor.
