The former PM intervenes on Labour’s future Good morning, it’s Megan. Energy bills in the UK will rise by 13 per cent in July, after Ofgem announced a rise in the energy price cap. This is not good news for the government, who have tried to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and Ed Miliband, the Energy Secretary, has said the rise in the price cap was because of a “war we did not choose”. The UK is bracing itself for further effects of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as we move into the summer.
