The young, ponytailed woman at the forefront of a new mural in El Monte knows her city's history. Her image is dotted with references to lesser-known local history. She carries a book with the Flores Magón brothers on the cover, a nod to famed Mexican anarchist's visit to El Monte over a century ago. The crucifix on her shirt references murals that once stood in the area. Then there's Godzilla on her shirt sleeve.

Some have said that the PBS app is not the place to go for things Halloween. Some have been wrong. Between now and All Hallow's Eve, you could spend every waking minute streaming spooky stuff on the free PBS App. Obviously, at the top of the list is the show dedicated to all things ghosts and goblins: Monstrum. There, you can find videos on everything from the Grim Reaper to Baba Yaga, Slender Man, and an Australian vampire that sucks your blood with its toes.

What does it mean to stage an opera in a city rather than on an operatic stage? When viewed through such a lens, how might that city look, sound and even perform differently? Who spectates? Who performs? Since its first performance in 2012, L.A.-based opera company The Industry has been asking just these questions through its site-specific and mobile productions.
