Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
I received my first byline working as an intern for the Connecticut Post for the "Your Region" section.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have never used a typewriter.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
A journalist is an informant to the public. You have the responsibility to provide an investigative and informed article to your readers.
What's your favorite social network?
When looking for trending news, Twitter is my go to source. I also enjoy Facebook for interaction with personal connections.
Why did you become a journalist?
For two reasons--one being I love writing. Secondly, I have always respected the role of the journalists working on the front line to inform.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write without fear. Do not allow yourself to be intimidated by an assignment. Know your story. Know your sources. Know yourself.
