Melissa Dickson’s Biography

My name is Melissa Dickson, I am a graduate of the University of Montana school of journalism, currently working within the marketing realm at my local NBC affiliate news station, KECI-TV in Missoula, MT. I grew up in the Central Valley of California before moving to Montana in 2021 to attend UM. There, at the school of journalism I learned how to effectively and objectively cover city council issues, profiles, news features, infrastructure and education at the pre-K through college level as well as the 2024 election as part of my capstone. I covered student government at my college newspaper, the Montana Kaimin. The following the summer upon my completion of my bachelor’s I was a sports writer intern for FCS Nation Radio, my beat being their partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand. This included feature stories of Big Sky Conference players who are participants in the nationwide fundraiser.
