Today, his restaurant Little Bear in Atlanta is known for its inventive blend of Jewish-Szechuan cuisine made from hyper-local ingredients. But, even as an aspiring chef, he was a fussy eater. “’You can’t be a good chef if you don’t like crème-fraîche,’” Stieber recalls his grandfather scolding him during a visit to Germany.
