ATLANTA — For the second day in a row, Atlanta has set a new record temperature. Friday's temperature in Atlanta reached 79 degrees at 1 p.m., breaking the previous daily high of 78 degrees set 40 years ago on February 20, 1986. With several more hours of daylight left, it's possible the temperature will climb higher. One of Atlanta's oldest remaining high-temperature records was broken Thursday, after the capital of the Peach State soared 20 degrees above average.
