On Monday afternoon, police said that an “armed and dangerous” person was in the Montreal neighborhood and advised the public to avoid the area near Côte-des-Neiges, Highway 40, and Queen Mary. Those who were in the area were advised to shelter in place. Police did not clarify where exactly the shooting took place.

The driver, identified as Michael Butler, was traveling east in a Tesla Model 3 at about 8 p.m. local time when he crashed through a brick home in Katy, Texas, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. During the crash, the car struck Martha Avila, who was inside the home.
