1. Introduction Energy is the basis of any idea of industrialisation and is therefore one of the essential factors for socio-economic development. This is even truer for developed or industrialised countries than for developing countries like Cameroon (Central Africa). As far as Cameroon is concerned, the country has many sources of renewable energy such as biomass, wind, solar and geothermal energy, which remain largely untapped for a country that aspires to emerge.
