When Eric Edens’ 1940 Plymouth springs to life you hear it. With the flip of a switch and a puff of smoke, the big block 413 engine roars to life through a set of cut-off headers. The sound is both deafening and awe inspiring. To some folks, a car is an appliance. It gets you from point A to point B with minimal drama but is as forgettable as a toaster or a washing machine. But some folks treat automobiles as a passion, and Eric Edens is one of those people.

Holly Ruth Gale is 54 years old, but she doesn’t act it. She sits tall, spry, and full of life. For Holly Ruth, life is meant to build momentum over time. Born in Dardanelle, Arkansas, her tenure as Arkansas Tech associate professor of music began in 1994. She teaches women’s choir, applied voice, vocal solo literature, and music theatre workshop. Over the years she has grown her career, pursuing countless projects related to her passions: music and theater.

No Kill Russellville is a grassroots organization of activists and game changers dedicated to the care and fair treatment of animals. As a group, their goal is to lower the “kill rate” of the Russellville Animal shelter by providing low cost spay/neuter clinics and microchipping, volunteers, and adoption drives. Since 2012, Whitney Hickerson and her fellow animal lovers have been improving the life of stray animals one furry friend at a time.
