ANC MPs ensure Ramaphosa lives to fight another day

It turns out that talk of there being over 40 so-called rogue ANC MPs who planned to vote in favour of Tuesday’s impeachment process was hogwash. Or more plainly put, if they did exist, they failed to rise to the occasion when called upon to publicly state “yes” or “no” with the entire country watching the parliamentary debate. It turns out it’s easier to fling mud on social media than locate one’s backbone when the moment actually calls for it.

StatsSA plans to start compiling and reporting data on how much electricity is generated outside of what Eskom can produce in light of better than expected GDP data in Q3. South Africans are an intrepid bunch and we often find a way. If we can’t find a way, we make a way. I’d wager we’re among the most resilient people in the world, thanks in no small part to the mountain of misery heaped upon us by the ANC and its failed policies.

ANC closes ranks, Ramaphosa impeachment inquiry motion defeated

By Michael Appel The independent panel’s report on Phala Phala has been rejected by the majority of lawmakers and the impeachment process of Cyril Ramaphosa will proceed no further. Parliament convened on Tuesday at the Cape Town City Hall where the panel’s report was first debated and then voted on. For the motion, brought by the ATM party, to pass required a simple majority of 50% plus one. In a 400-seat Parliament that’s 201 votes that were required.
