SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — After a hiker survived a bison attack in Custer State Park, her daughters are sharing the story of the incident and of her recovery and resilience. Katherine and Elizabeth Lange were with their mother, Lisa Lange, in the hospital. On Monday, Lisa was hiking on Lovers Leap Trail when she turned a corner and came across a wild bison. “She called me, and we are just so incredibly grateful that her call was even able to go through. I was in complete shock,” Katherine said.

Highmore businesses seek donations after storm

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– The residents of Highmore are still picking up the pieces after a 131 mph windstorm left 80% of homes and 90% of businesses damaged. Many businesses in Highmore are asking for help for their recovery. Carrie Stephenson, Public Information Officer with the Hyde County Emergency Management Office, said as of now they have two fundraisers for two different businesses in Highmore.
