Albert Itzkowitz always enjoyed his time near the lake in Kissena Park. Last Thursday, five weeks after the rabbi and retired baker was shot and killed near Kissena Lake, family members were in the park to announce a doubling of the reward for information on the crime and to encourage people who had been in the park on the afternoon of May 18 to come forward. Itzkowitz, 75, lived in Kew Gardens. He was found shot to death a short distance from the lake.

Man indicted in fatal Fresh Meadows crash

A Fresh Meadows man has been indicted on second-degree manslaughter and other charges for the three-vehicle crash that killed a 71-year-old pedestrian on May 25. Dawood Faisal, 22, also was charged with second- and third-degree assault, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, and single counts of reckless driving, second-degree menacing, failing to stop at a steady red signal, driving in excess of the maximum speed limit and operating a vehicle at unreasonable speed.

$10G reward for info in Itzkowitz killing

Crime Stoppers has nearly tripled the reward being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the May 18 shooting death of Kew Gardens Hills resident Albert Itzkowitz. The former $3,500 reward now stands at $10,000. The case has been ruled a homicide. Itzkowitz, 75, was found just before 5 p.m. near Kissena Lake in Flushing by officers from the NYPD’s 109th Precinct responding to a 911 call. He had been shot in the back and neck.
