King tide swamps Bundaberg Region beaches

The king tide peaked on Kellys Beach just after 8am on Sunday. It was hard to find a spot on Bundaberg Region beaches this morning as the summer king tide was pushed even higher by Tropical Cyclone Seth. According to Maritime Safety Queensland, this morning's official high tide at Burnett Heads was 3.45 metres at 8.07am. Earlier, the Bureau of Meteorology warned that tides would be abnormally higher due to TC Seth, which at 4am was about 630km east-northeast of Hervey Bay.

Bundaberg weather records set in 2021

Heavy rain fell in November, testing the new Hughes Road culvert at Bargara. New weather records were set in 2021 including the wettest November and hottest day at Bundaberg Airport as welcome rain filled dams across the region. The hottest day of the year was on 22 February when the temperature peaked at 38.6 degrees.
