Expansion plans in the distribution grid collide with regulation

Berlin (energate) - Municipal distribution grid operators are expecting a massive expansion of their grid infrastructure, but believe that the current renewable energy targets are being jeopardised by existing framework conditions. This is the result of a survey conducted by the German Association of Local Utilities (VKU), in which 159 of the 756 member companies contacted took part. According to the survey, around 93 per cent of the companies plan to at least double their grid capacities by 2045.
