What was your first job as a journalist?
I volunteered at The Game of Nerds and did weekly pieces, which was a great and valuable experience to start my career.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have! It was for a Senior Seminar and we didn't get to use it much since, well, they are quite old and quite expensive. It was pretty cool!
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email is the best way, as I'll be able to see it right away.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My brain and Google Docs haha
What's your favorite social network?
Bluesky because it's a great place to show off work and have people see it and interact with it, like other journalists.
Why did you become a journalist?
I love to write and I love to play games, so why not combine the two?
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find your niche and display it however possible and do volunteer writing to build your portfolio up and make connections.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Hanging out with my brother or watching a good show or movie.
