‘Working Through’ Interpersonal Transgressions: The Role of Narration (and Re-Narration) in the Self-Forgiveness Processes of Wrongdoers
3.2.2.1 Theme 1: Explaining, framing and vacillating: developing understanding and contextualizing threats to moral integrity When participants wrote about a recent time they wronged someone, they often framed their wrongdoing within a broader context—such as in relation to their values, backstories preceding the incident, emotional contexts or relational dynamics between parties.
Perspective-Giving in Social Interactions
1 Introduction As social beings, humans' effective navigation of the social world depends on understanding and appreciating the perspectives of others. Hence, perspective-taking—to recognise a difference in thoughts, feelings, circumstances, and worldview between oneself and others, and to consider their perspective—has been researched for almost a century, considered an important cognitive process in a vast array of social interactions (Batson et al. 1997; Davis et al.

Impact of clay mineralogy on the rheological behaviour of carbon-reinforced concrete with sustainable binders
Using carbon-reinforced concrete alongside innovative manufacturing technologies, such as 3D printing and extrusion, presents a promising approach to reducing CO2 emissions by minimizing material use. Incorporating sustainable binders with a clinker factor of 0.5 or lower –such as Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3) –can further reduce the carbon footprint of these processes.
Allelic turnover and dominance reversal at a single-gene balanced polymorphism controlling heterodichogamous flowering in wingnuts (Juglandaceae)
Abstract Angiosperms have evolved a wide variety of spatial and temporal developmental mechanisms to limit sexual interference and inbreeding. In heterodichogamy, two hermaphroditic morphs exploit distinct temporal reproductive niches by alternating phases of male and female flowering, promoting disassortative mating. This system is widespread within Juglandaceae, and known to be controlled by ancient balanced polymorphisms in walnuts (Juglans) and hickories (Carya).

Keeping score: Past victimization reduces offenders’ conciliatory sentiments for their present transgressions
1 INTRODUCTION Interpersonal transgressions are typically empirically treated as standalone incidents involving a ‘victim‘ and an ‘offender’ (Woodyatt et al., 2022). However, the reality is that the interpersonal relationships in which these transgressions transpire often contain histories of reciprocal wrongdoing, whereby each party has occupied both victim and offender roles at different points in time.
‘We despair’: Examining the role of political despair for collective action and well‐being
1 INTRODUCTION Politics are an important part of people's lives. When something important to us is ‘at stake’ in a political issue or event, we determine its evaluative meaning for us. This evaluative meaning is emotion… [emotions] are the lived experience of politics in people's lives… — Leach (2010, p. 1827, italics added) Recent years have witnessed many dramatic social and political movements and changes.
Tensions between collective‐self forgiveness and political repair
1 INTRODUCTION Many national groups have a checkered past. Former colonial powers or their descendent nations, arguably more than most, have a history of wrongdoing and many have continued to perpetuate injustices to the present day. The consequences have been particularly pernicious for the Indigenous peoples of colonized lands.
Computationally directed manipulation of cross-linked covalent organic frameworks for membrane applications
Computationally directed manipulation of cross-linked covalent organic frameworks for membrane applications† Two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (2D-COFs) exhibit characteristics ideal for membrane applications, such as high stability, tunability and porosity along with well-ordered nanopores. However, one of the many challenges with fabricating these materials into membranes is that membrane wetting can result in layer swelling.

A debate on the neuronal origin of focal seizures
SPECIAL ISSUE ARTICLE This article has been accepted for publication and undergone full peer review but has not been through the copyediting, typesetting, pagination and proofreading process, which may lead to differences between this version and the Version of Record. Please cite this article as doi:10.1111/epi.17650. Abstract A critical question regarding how focal seizures start is whether we can identify particular cell classes that drive the pathological process.
Simultaneous Two-Photon Voltage or Calcium Imaging and Multi-Channel Local Field Potential Recordings in Barrel Cortex of Awake and Anesthetized Mice
Introduction Two-photon microscopy and electrophysiology are complementary techniques to detect neuronal activity in vivo with high spatial and high temporal resolution, respectively. Two-photon microscopy (Denk et al., 1990; Theer et al., 2005) allows optical sectioning and overcomes, to some extent, the problem of light scattering inherent to imaging of biological tissue.

Men Accused of Dragging Shark Behind Speeding Boat Charged
(TAMPA, Fla.) — Authorities say social media posts bolstered their investigation into a video of a shark being dragged behind a speeding boat in Florida. Three men were charged Tuesday with third-degree felony animal cruelty charges in connection with the video. They face up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines if convicted.
Two pathways to self-forgiveness: A hedonic path via self-compassion and a eudaimonic path via the reaffirmation of violated values
Self-forgiveness is often measured as a hedonic end-state, as the presence of positive affect and the absence of negative affect towards the self following a wrongdoing. However, self-forgiveness is also referred to as a difficult process. Self-forgiveness as a process of accepting responsibility and working through one's wrongdoing is a substantially un-hedonic – it is likely to be uncomfortable and at times painful.
