1 INTRODUCTION Socio-scientific issues (SSIs) are socially and scientifically embedded topics and are commonly used to help students apply scientific concepts to real-world situations. Examples of SSIs include climate change, acceptance of evolution, nuclear power, and genetically modified foods (GMFs) (Borgerding et al., 2017; Dinsmore et al., 2017; Heddy et al., 2017; Ozturk & Yilmaz-Tuzun, 2017; Potter et al., 2017).

Simulation-based events provide experiential learning to students as they navigate Interprofessional education. Despite research revealing positive perceptions of students, faculty are still reluctant due to various barriers to IPE. The purpose of the study was to determine if there was a change in perception of Sim-IPE by faculty following a large-scale acute-care based event.
