COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — Turnout in southeast Colorado Springs has historically trailed the rest of El Paso County, but El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Steve Schleiker is urging community members to make their voices heard before Tuesday's Primary Election Day deadline. In the 30 southeast , turnout currently sits at an average of just over 11%. Across the rest of the county, turnout rates can reach the 70s or even 80s, Schleiker said.

(KOAA) — Large hail fell across parts of southern Colorado Springs this week, prompting homeowners in Security-Widefield to inspect their roofs, vehicles and property for damage. News5 viewers shared photos of hailstones ranging in size from golf balls to lemons after storms moved through the area. But as residents begin assessing the damage, experts say they should also be on the lookout for another potential problem, contractors who show up uninvited offering repairs.

Air Force veteran creates gym community for veterans in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — Clint Jordan served 22 years in the Air Force before opening CrossFit Bonnie & Clyde in southeast Colorado Springs. The gym is located on Arrawanna Street, which is northeast of the North Circle Drive and East Platte Avenue intersection. "I had structure. I lacked discipline, so the military gave me that," said Jordan. Jordan knows firsthand how difficult the transition to civilian life can be and how isolating it can feel.
