NOBTS alum Chris Crain named AMS of the Year By Timothy Cockes/NOBTS NEW ORLEANS – NOBTS graduate Chris Crain, executive director of the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association, was recently named the Associational Mission Strategist (AMS) of the Year by the Southern Baptist Conference of Associational Leaders (SBCAL).

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup roars to a close and Spain is left holding the trophy, Southern Baptist churches and missionaries around the world are praying for an impact that outlasts the hardware. With North America hosting its first World Cup since 1994, churches, local associations, state conventions, as well as both the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board worked to see tens of thousands of lives touched through both digital and in-person outreach opportunities.

FORT WORTH, Texas — About a decade after a short-term mission team from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) led him to Christ, Texas Baptist College (TBC) student Bosco Soajoro now looks forward to completing his studies and returning to his home country of Madagascar to bring the gospel and theological training to others.
