What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job was a radio reporter - turned news director. My first TV job was a reporter - photographer.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, but only for school reports. By the time I hit college, we were on Macs.
How is social media changing news?
Social media requires us to engage with our viewers, to get off our mountain, to speak to viewers rather than shout at them. Faster, smarter

Jane Craig (Broadcast News)
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means giving a voice to someone who wouldn't have the means to do it otherwise. I believe in service based journalism.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
I hope no one finds that offensive, but it was a really serious story about a college student who died.

Why did you become a journalist?
I hoped I could make a difference and was challenged by telling stories.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am most proud of a story I did on women consuming their own placentas for health. I went into it with one thought and came out changed.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't give up. None of us know if we've figured it out yet. Be open to anything and stay positive.
