Michelle Li is an evening anchor and reporter at WISC-TV in Madison, Wis. Previously she worked as the main anchor at stations in the Coastal Carolinas and Springfield, Mo.

Michelle has received several regional EMMY awards for her interactive work, along with reports on synthetic marijuana, severe weather, women's health issues, national scam investigations and adoption issues.

What was your first job as a journalist?

My first job was a radio reporter - turned news director. My first TV job was a reporter - photographer.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, but only for school reports. By the time I hit college, we were on Macs.

Social media requires us to engage with our viewers, to get off our mountain, to speak to viewers rather than shout at them. Faster, smarter
