A Psychological Necessity Pattern Seeking: We humans are natural pattern seekers. Our brains are wired to detect patterns and causality. This pattern-seeking behavior no doubt had survival benefits in early human history. Early humans needed to make quick decisions about dangerous situations: "Is that rustling in the bush a predator? Is that thunder a sign of a storm?" The brain would look for patterns that could help predict these dangers.

Oh, Florida’s back at it, huh? Mandating daily recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools like it’s some badge of patriotic honor. But let’s peel back the layers on this so-called “tradition” and expose it for what it really is: a relic of manipulative nationalism that’s about as American as apple pie laced with propaganda.
