PETERSBURG – Bob Brissette is in rarefied air. Or, rather, stands on rarefied bowling lanes. In the spring, the 86-year-old Petersburg man became just the 27th bowler in the 119-year history of the U.S. Bowling Congress Open to surpass the 100,000-pin milestone. Leadership helps Dundee's Fenbert earn MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award

Helping raise others up has helped put Jacob Fenbert in rarefied air. Fenbert, 18, a senior at Dundee High School, is the first Viking to earn an MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award – one of just six student-athletes in Class B and 32 across the state. “Leadership is not how well you do in a sport but how you help those around you do better, and how you help the environment of your team,” Fenbert said. “That’s one of the most important things, at least for me.
