A Central Massachusetts man was arrested in connection with an attempt to pay to have sex with an underage girl. James Gill, a 39-year-old Clinton resident, was taken into custody in April and charged with one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor, according to the U.S. District Attorney's Office. Gill responded to an online advertisement posted by undercover investigators, according to prosecutors.

Two Holbrook town employees who were charged with felony assault in connection with attacking a homeless man may have been seeking revenge and targeted the wrong man, according to police reports. Jesse Baxter, 32, and his brother, Jake Baxter, 28, both employees for the town’s Department of Public Works, were arrested June 22 and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot), assault and battery on a person over the age of 60 and witness intimidation.
