Life is Temporary -- Eternity is Not
By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story September 2026 When was the last time you considered that if Jesus tarries, one day your life will end? The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:27, “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, every person has an appointment with eternity.” We don’t know the day or the hour. But we know that day will come. Therefore, one of the most important questions we could possibly consider is not merely, How long will I live?
Course Correction For Church Suffering Identity Crisis
By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story August 2026 “But you are a Chosen Race, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9. When reality smacks up against perception, it can be a very sobering experience.

The godly believer, man or woman, rests in God’s sovereignty, understanding that no one gets away with anything, and eventually, the rotten fruit of sin will manifest itself — that’s verses 14 through 16, and I want you to see this. This encourages me. I hope that it encourages you.

By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story February 2026 Psalm 7 — you’ll notice the preamble to it says, “A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning Cush, a Benjamite.” Now, that tells us everything that we need to know about this psalm as far as history and context. By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story January 2026 Ephesians 6 contains a well-known passage often referred to as the “Armor of God” or the “Necessary Equipment for Spiritual Warfare.” Either title fits well with what Paul describes in verse 12: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Most of the attention given to this...

By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story Year-End 2025 Chapter 10 of the book of Acts is an amazing narrative for many reasons. We find a Gentile by the name of Cornelius and the apostle Peter both receiving visions that would shake the early Church and the evangelistic efforts of the apostles. In the midst of Peter’s sermon at Cornelius’ house, we find a statement worthy of our consideration and exploration.

This Is Our Turning Point
By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story October 2025 I read Isaiah 59 this week and something leaped off the page. Here is 59:13-15. “Transgressing and denying the Lord, and turning away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words. Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the street, and uprightness cannot enter. Yes, truth is lacking; and he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey.

Matthew 5:3-12, The Greatest Sermon (Part Two)
By Dr. Mike Spaulding August 2025 We left off this study in Matthew 5:6. Let’s begin today with 5:7. Now, notice a shift in focus starting in verse 7. The first four Beatitudes deal with internal things leading to salvation. Recognizing our spiritual poverty; mourning leading to repentance; humbleness leading to giving God control; growing in faith by feeding on God’s Word. So, after outlining the necessity of the new birth, Jesus begins to explain what being a Christian looks like.
Matthew 5:3-12, The Greatest Sermon (Part Three)
By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story September 2025 We begin our study through Jesus’ Sermon the Mount, what I call The Greatest Sermon ever taught, in verse 9 of chapter 5 (See the previous two editions of WCN for earlier articles in this series). Verse 9. What is a peacemaker? Is it someone who smooths out arguments? Is it someone who separates two people who are fighting? It could be, but more accurately, what Jesus is talking about here is much more than that.

By Dr. Mike Spaulding Complimentary Story The latest recent criminal activity by the Broward County, Florida, Board of Elections resulting in the director’s resignation in disgrace, reminded me of a quote attributed to Joseph Stalin: “You know, comrades,” says Stalin, “that I think in regard to this: I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how.” While most Americans concern...

Without warning, this person jumped out of the chair and almost raced into the hiring manager’s office.
