In the last few days, a significant number of countries have announced their decision to recognize a Palestinian state. At the same time, the leaders of these countries have repeatedly condemned the attacks of October 7. Can you see the problem here? The two positions are logically incompatible. It makes no sense to repudiate the actions of a group like Hamas as “terrorism” and then cave in to their demands on statehood.
