Supporting service providers with their global ambitions
Over the past few years, service providers have moved out of pure growth mode and into a phase defined by commercialisation, scale and stability. ISPs, cloud communication providers and managed voice service providers are all reaching a similar point. Now, the next stage of evolution is international expansion and portfolio diversification. The market is now experiencing a watershed moment.

Review: Symphony concert in Cowichan brings audience to their feet
By Mike Mills The concert was performed in the beautiful Theatre at Brentwood College School in Mill Bay. It started with the performance of ‘Swim’, a new composition by Dr. Cassandra Miller, commissioned by the Victoria and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras. Miller spoke to us before the piece was performed and explained the thought process that led to this very attractive piece. She was imagining Robert Schumann swimming in a cool lake, rather than the Rhine.

Scarf Review: "Can't Help But Relish In The Wholesome Moment"
Scarf clearly draws most of its DNA from 2012s much-beloved Journey and it wears this inspiration proudly. It also draws from the likes of Rime, presenting a minimalist platformer with puzzles sprinkled in. While inspired by what came before it, these comparisons give Scarf some big shoes to fill and while Scarf certainly looks the part, does it deliver on the gameplay and can it do enough to stand out on its own? Considering another short indie game to tackle?
Mike Mills on His Drama for the Tender-Hearted C'mon C'mon
For ten months, Mike Mills edited his latest film, C’mon C’mon, alone, at a desk at home. “My editor Jennifer Vecchiarello was in a little chat window on my computer screen,” he recalls. Locked down at home in 2020, Mills poured his heart into the film, which in many ways couldn’t be more personal.
Coupling Automation: Pairing Supply Chain Planning with Price Optimization
Summary Coupling Automation: Pairing Supply Chain Planning with Price Optimization A new automation couple has surfaced: pairing supply chain planning with pricing optimization. Driving this trend is the fact that companies need earlier insights into new market opportunities, including what items consumers want, on what channel, how much they should stock, and how much they will pay for these products.
The (layered) vision thing
Like acid-washed jeans and theories about Oat Bran, the word post-modernism now elicits an embarrassed – aren’t we over that? – reaction. There is a general suspicion that postmodernism is a conspiracy set loose by pretentious academics and ambitious designers inclined to overestimate the meaning of their work. But simply to go along with such an anti-intellectual standpoint is too easy.

ROH HITS & MISSES 12/2: King vs. Daniels, Castle, Cobb vs. Woods, Page vs. Façade, Lethal, Cody, Daniels and Scurll, SCU vs. Guerrero Maya Jr. & Stuka Jr. -
Dalton Castle (photo credit Wade Keller © PWTorch) HITS Kenny King vs. Christopher Daniels: Nice promo from King before the match began. King teases Daniels in regard to Daniels having one foot out of the door because his contract is just about up. King tells Daniels he’s going to give him one more ass kicking before he leaves the promotion. This match was good. Nothing exceptional but good. King finishes off Daniels with a punt to the groin and then King hit Daniels with the Royal Flush.
ROH HITS & MISSES 11/18: Castle-Taven-The Kingdom, Helms vs. Scurll, Three-Way Tag Match for the ROH World Tag Team Titles
Christopher Daniels & Kazarian (ROHWrestling.com) HITS Dalton Castle, Taven, and The Kingdom: This started out as Castle discussing how hard he worked to get back after dealing with all of the injuries he faced this year that ultimately cost him a nice run with the ROH World Title. Castle goes on to explain that he is now back, and he wants Jay Lethal and the ROH World Title. The in-ring promo was interrupted by Matt Taven.
ROH HITS & MISSES 11/11: Taylor vs. Jeff Cobb, The Bouncers vs. Cheeseburger & Isom, SoCal Uncensored, The Kingdom vs. Lethal, Gresham, & Castle
Jay Lethal (art credit Grant Gould © PWTorch) HITS Shane Taylor vs. Jeff Cobb (Non-title match): This match was exactly what I thought it would be and that was a battle of two big powerful men. Both big men were able to get each other off their feet early on. In addition to Cobb showing his unreal power, Cobb also showed his tremendous agility when he hit a standing shooting star on to Taylor.
ROH HITS & MISSES 11/4: Cody vs. King, Young vs. The Sandman, Gordon and Bully Ray, WOH Six-Woman Tag Match
Silas Young vs. ECW Original The Sandman: Before the match, Bully comes out and runs off Bobby Cruise because he wants to explain the stipulation for this match. After Young makes his entrance, Flip Gordon makes his entrance accompanied by Colt Cabana. Cabana surprises Bully when he announces that it is not himself but is actually ECW original, The Sandman, who will battle Young. The ECW crowd was pretty darn excited to see the surprise being The Sandman.
ROH HITS & MISSES 10/21: Coast To Coast vs. The Briscoes, Lethal, Martinez vs. Cobb, Dashwood, Page, Sabin vs. Scurll
Coast To Coast (LSG & Shaheem Ali) vs. The Briscoes (Jay & Mark Briscoe): As the show was kicking off, Ian Riccaboni threw it to the ring for what we thought would be Chris Cabin vs. Marty Scurll, but, Coast To Coast (CTC) comes out with the microphone in their hands and they are ready to get it on right now against The Briscoes. CTC tells The Briscoes to come out right now to get their asses kicked. CTC came through with another solid showing.
ROH HITS & MISSES 10/7: The Kingdom (Marseglia & O’Ryan) vs. Coast To Coast (Ali & LSG), Helms vs. Scurll, Cheeseburger vs. Ferrara
Scurll & Helms Video Package Followed by Scurll Promo: Nice and short video package of Scurll defeating Helms a few months ago. This was followed by Helms talking about vanquishing “The Hurricane” once and for all. Short and effective and a nice recap of why we are where we are with these two concerning their upcoming match. Shane “Hurricane” Helms vs. Marty Scurll: Really nice reaction from the crowd during the introductions for both guys.
ROH HITS & MISSES 9/23: Best Friends vs. The Boys, King vs. Page, Jeff Cobb, Lethal & Gresham vs. Ray & Young
Replays and Video Packages: The first video package replay was with Bully Ray, Silas Young, Jay Lethal, and Jonathan Gresham. This one showed a quick one-minute video of what happened with these four guys last week and announced the main event tag match with them later. During the second recap, we were shown a video package of The Briscoes and SoCal Uncensored (SCU). They will battle at Death Before Dishonor.
ROH HITS & MISSES 9/30: Four-Corner Survival Match, Solow vs. Martinez, Coast 2 Coast Update, Bully Ray & Young, ROH World Six-Man Tag Title Match
Eli Isom vs. Shane Taylor vs. Flip Gordon vs. Chris Sabin: I had genuine intrigue into how this match would turn out. Isom is really looking good to me lately as one of the newer talents in the promotion. Gordon continues to impress every time he is out there. Sabin’s new singles run is something I am into and lastly, Taylor is a powerhouse with good potential who has been around for a while now. Given the four participants, I had no clue who would get the win since I felt all four had a chance.
ROH HITS & MISSES 9/9: Mark Briscoe vs. Kazarian, Young and Bully Ray, Gresham vs. Lethal
Mark Briscoe vs. Frankie Kazarian: The feud continues with members of the Briscoes and SoCal Uncensored. Except this time, it is Mark Briscoe and Frankie Kazarian doing battle. The show started with these two battling. We did not even see the introductions. Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana, and Caprice Coleman tell us they battled down to ringside. After the first commercial break, Jay Briscoe makes his way down to ringside to support his brother. Kazarian takes Jay out though rather quickly.
ROH HITS & MISSES 8/19: Sabin vs. Sky, Shelley “Retires,” Lethal and Gresham, Isom vs. FR Josie, Jeff Cobb Debuts, The Kingdom, Rose vs. Q, King vs. Scurll -
Chris Sabin (w/Alex Shelley) vs. Scorpio Sky: During introductions and before the match begins, ROH’s new bright canvas hits you in a good way. It looks really nice and gives the show an overall clean presentation. It took me a while to get into this match since there has not been much build up between these two. However, I like the back and forth between the two throughout. These two went nearly 10-minutes before Sabin picks up his second TV victory in a row when he hits Sky with his finisher.
ROH HITS & MISSES 8/3: Young vs. Sabin, Helms vs. Scurll, Los Ingobernables De Japon vs. SoCal Uncensored vs. The Bullet Club
Silas Young vs. Chris Sabin: I was very much looking forward to this match. Although, I do have one gripe. Young still has not gotten a rematch for the ROH TV title that he lost in Dallas. Ian Riccaboni even pointed this out during the entrances for both men. Additionally, this match was to determine the #1 contender for the ROH TV title. I would think Young should get his rematch first before a match like this. Anyway, just a small grip of mine.
7/22 ROH HITS & MISSES: Four-Corner Survival Match for the ROH World Title, Sakai vs. Hazuki, Scurll and Helms, Lethal promos interrupted
Best in the World Video Package: They played a nice and concise video package of some of the memorable moments from Best in the World. It was very short, but I thought well put together as we finally are in a spot where we will get to see some of the fall out from the last PPV. Jay Lethal, Matt Taven, Cody, and Dalton Castle: Ian Riccaboni recaps the big win Lethal got at Best in the World when he defeated Kushida.
7/15 ROH HITS & MISSES: The Kingdom Opening Promo, The Dawgs interrupt Cody, Six-Man Gauntlet match,
The Kingdom Opening Promo: Quick opening promo from the Kingdom talking about the teams that will compete in a six-man gauntlet match for a shot at them and their six-man World Tag Team titles. Matt Taven does not seem to be too worried about whoever wins though since The Kingdom is in a world of its own. Taven does mention that he thinks it is a conspiracy that these teams can all just line up with one getting a shot at their titles.
7/8 ROH HITS & MISSES: Cheeseburger vs. Bully Ray, Cody vs. Titan, The Dawgs, Coleman’s Pulpit, Daniels and Sky, Shephard & Ortiz vs. Sakai & Grey
Cody Promo: Cody cuts a very short promo on Titan at the very beginning of the episode. The promo was fine and effective but please see my final thoughts on this week’s episode for a further assessment. Christopher Daniels and Scorpio Sky: Daniels talks about the six-man tag gauntlet match coming up next week. Daniels feels SoCal Uncensored (SCU) has been done wrong by the fact that SCU has to go through a bunch of other teams just to get a chance at The Kingdom’s World Six-Man Tag Titles.
ROH HITS & MISSES 7/1: Gresham vs. King, Six-Man Tag Gauntlet Announcement, The Dawgs & Taylor, Façade vs. Woods, Bully Ray & Cheeseburger, Taven vs. Ultimo Guerrero -
Jonathan Gresham vs. Kenny King: For a match that did not have much on the line, King and Gresham delivered an excellent back and forth battle. There was a sequence in the match near the finish that looked scary, Gresham delivered a hurricanrana to King, but King appeared to come down hard on the top of his head as he took the move. I thought King looked stunned for a moment but to his credit he countered a roll up attempt by Gresham and King nailed Gresham with the Royal Flush.
ROH HITS & MISSES 6/25: Castle, Lethal vs. Chuckie T, Martinez & The Briscoes vs. The Hung Bucks, Bully Ray and Gordon, Final Build to Best in the World -
Dalton Castle: Dalton Castle opens up the show coming down to the ring with The Boys. Castle received a loud ovation of “Dalton Castle” chants from the crowd. Castle answers the question as to why he is putting his title on the line against two members of The Bullet Club. His response was why not put it up against two members of Bullet Club. Castle claims he is just that dam good at this. He says he is not afraid to fight two guys.
ROH HITS & MISSES 6/18: Bullet Club vs. Los Ingobernables, Young Bucks-Briscoes fallout, Lack of new stars, Punishment Martinez
Kenny King vs. Chuckie T: We are shown a recap before the match of what happened recently with Aries attacking King at the end of Aries’ match with Silas Young. I think this is the second or third time they have shown this recap. Although nothing has been announced, I assume King and Aries will have a match at Best in the World June 29, 2018. I especially feel this way since Ian Riccaboni and Colt Cabana mentioned Aries numerous times early and at the end of the match.
ROH HITS & MISSES 6/11: Gresham vs. Gordon, Klein vs. Purrazzo, Lethal, Castle, Bully Ray, The Briscoes vs. Roppongi 3K
Jonathan Gresham vs. Flip Gordon: Good match between Gordon and Gresham. I was intrigued by who would get the win. I would say for the most part no one had the upper hand and it was back and forth with both trading who was on the offensive. We got a nice series of chops and forearms at the midway point of the match that fans were invested in.
ROH HITS & MISSES 6/4: Young vs. Aries For The ROH World TV Title, Karen Q vs. Dashwood, Cody and Scurll Confrontation
Cody Interrupted by Marty Scurll: Cody declares that he has assumed the role of the leader of The Bullet Club which got mixed reviews from the crowd. He also claims he will be the next NWA World Champion which got a loud applause and cheers. Cody’s declaration of his rematch for the ROH World title also got a loud applause. Cody turned his attention to Marty Scurll which the mere mention of Scurll’s name got another loud cheer as Scurll’s music hits and Scurll comes out.
ROH HITS & MISSES 5/28: The Dawgs vs. Cheeseburger & Liger, Sakai vs. Rose for the Women of Honor Title, The Kingdom vs. SoCal Uncensored for the Six-Man World Tag Title Match, Castle, Cody, Scurll, Young -
The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara aka Little Willy) vs. Cheeseburger & Jushin Thunder Liger: The Dawgs head to the ring with their normal comedy style promo. Parts of me really enjoy The Dawgs and then another part of me hates seeing both guys relegated to a comedy spot. For what it is worth though, the guys are really entertaining as The Dawgs. This was a quick 10-minute match to kick-off the show where I think you would be entertained. There is a history between Burger and Ferrara.
ROH HITS & MISSES 5/21: Lethal vs. Martinez, Daddiego vs. Taylor, The Bullet Club vs. SoCal Uncensored, More Bullet Club Drama
Jay Lethal vs. Punishment Martinez: Martinez cuts a quick promo before the match. He addresses Lethal’s agenda of taking him out in redeeming himself. Lethal also cuts a quick promo on Martinez telling him that he will end Martinez’ momentum and this is just the first step back to his road to glory. This was a fantastic opener. I thought Lethal did great targeting Martinez’ left knee/leg as he tried to chop the big man down.
ROH HITS & MISSES 5/14: Young Bucks vs. Briscoes, Machine Guns vs. The Dawgs, Klein vs. Rayne, Lethal, Bullet Club, Bully Ray
SoCal Uncensored (SCU) – Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky: This was an effective promo by SCU. Daniels and Kazarian always deliver. Here is where I am confused. Daniels references getting their 6-man titles back. But is he talking about getting the titles back because they lost them in Lowell at the first night of War of the Worlds or is he saying this because the belts were stolen from them at Supercard of Honor?
ROH HITS & MISSES 5/7: Jay Lethal promo, Young Bucks backstage promo, Castle & Boys vs. The Kingdom
Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas vs. Coast To Coast (LSG & Shaheem Ali): Nice video package before the match begins where we saw Bruiser & Milonas attack LSG before the Gauntlet tag match that saw Milonas & Bruiser get a couple of wins in a few weeks back. Coast To Coast (CTC) cuts a quick promo before the match telling us they will get even with Bruiser & Milonas for their actions. On to the match we go. This was a good opening match. From the start, CTC goes on the attack.
ROH HITS & MISSES 4/30: Young vs. Gordon for the ROH World TV Title, Sumie Sakai vs. Stella Grey, The Kingdom, Scurll, Chuckie T vs. Woods, Bully Ray
Supercard of Honor Recap Video Package: They air a short video package of the critical moments from Supercard of Honor. This was a good. I wish they would have started one of the last two weeks with this, but I have to give them credit on putting such a solid and concise package together with the big moments from Supercard. Cody and Brandi Rhodes Backstage: This was a weird promo but a good one.
ROH HITS & MISSES 4/23: Women of Honor Semi-Finals and Final, Klein vs. Iwatani, Sakai vs. Dashwood, Klein vs. Sakai in Women of Honor Tournament Final -
Kelly Klein vs. Mayu Iwatani: From the start, Kelly Klein was one of my favorites in this tournament. She has been the powerhouse of the women’s division for a while. I was not surprised by the outcome here with Klein defeating Iwatani. I think it was a good match and good to see Klein get the victory as the top heel in the division. Sumie Sakai vs. Tenille Dashwood: I realize that Sakai is a long-time veteran of the ROH Women of Honor division, but this result shocked me.
ROH HITS & MISSES 4/16: Kazarian vs. Hiromu Takahashi, Tag Team Gauntlet Match Determines #1 Contender
Frankie Kazarian vs. Hiromu Takahashi: This was a good opening match. It did not have any long time potential in terms of storylines in my opinion, but we are also watching footage recorded prior to Supercard of Honor that took place April 7. We see this from time to time on ROH PPV weekends and/or the week after. The match was good. The crowd was into it. As we worked towards the finish, Kazarian hits Takahashi with a slingshot cutter.
ROH HITS & MISSES 4/2: Omega and The Bullet Club Conflict, Champions Challenge, Cody, The Kingdom, Cheeseburger vs. Kikutaro, Purrazzo vs. Iwatani
The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) vs. Kenny King & Dalton Castle: On the surface, this was a very good match between all the champions in the promotion excluding the World 6-Man Tag Champs. It was a back and forth fight with everything you would expect from four of the best wrestlers in the company. Nearly 15 minutes into the match, Silas Young comes down the entrance ramp and slightly distracts King.
Bully Ray's camera time gets ridiculous, Gordon vs. Sky, Kingdom, Briscoe, SoCal Uncensored -
The Kingdom: The Kingdom open the show. They came out and talked about getting back their 6-man titles at Supercard of Honor in two weeks. I thought Taven was good as usual here on declaring that there is a conspiracy against The Kingdom. He talked about how Cody is allowed to parade around with his circus at ringside but when The Kingdom does the same, the rules are not adhered to and The Kingdom gets kicked out. This reference was to what happened at the 16th Anniversary.
College Corner: Bright lights of Camden Yards pales compared to luster of Navy-Army rivalry
Brandon Yu is no stranger to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Perry Hall native and 2017 Baltimore County Pitcher of the Year at Perry Hall High School grew up within 20 miles of the Orioles’ home park. Although he can’t recall attending his first big league game, Yu remembers spending countless summer days watching his hometown team play.
ROH HITS & MISSES 3/19: The Dawgs vs. Coast To Coast, HZK vs. Mayu Iwatani, The Addiction & The Kingdom vs. Bullet Club
Recap of SoCal Uncensored and The Kingdom: At the top of the show, we are shown a video recap of last week with SoCal Uncensored, The Bullet Club, and the alliance being set up with The Kingdom and SoCal Uncensored. Once again, nothing spectacular here but I continue to believe that short recaps are a good idea given the fast-paced day and age we live in where a week can seem like a month. The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara aka Little Willy) vs.
College Corner: In fourth season, Hood College Baseball blazing new trail with scorching start
When it comes to baseball, the Hood College program has barely graduated from toddler status. It’s embarking on its fourth season of existence and has failed to post a winning season in its first three campaigns. So far this season, though, the Blazers are, well, blazing through the competition — winning their first 13 games heading into a doubleheader today against Messiah College in Florida.
ROH HITS & MISSES 3/12: Battle Royal, Kingdom, Bullet Club, Shadows vs. Dashwood, Bruiser & Milonas vs. Isom & Nova, Taylor vs. Gordon
Matt Taven (w/The Kingdom), Christopher Daniels, and Frankie Kazarian: This started with a promo from Taven discussing how The Bullet Club is falling apart at the seams. Taven also continued ranting about the conspiracy that is holding down The Kingdom. Taven and The Kingdom are interrupted by what appears to be just Daniels & Kazarian. You cannot see if Scorpio Sky is there but during the promo Daniels references SoCal Uncensored and refers to the three of them.
College Corner: Towson's Palacios follows family footsteps, makes own imprint on field
Family and baseball are interchangeable in the Palacios household. The game’s a tradition – passed down like genes from one generation to the next. Before Towson University shortstop Richie Palacios could walk, he had a glove and ball in his hands. The junior from Brooklyn N.Y., cherishes the little family time he gets these days. Luckily for Palacios, baseball is his family’s business. His dad, Richard Palacios Sr., spent time in the Detroit Tigers’ farm system.
