The Macalester Scots track and field team closed their indoor season on March 14 at the National Collegiate Athletics Association Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala. During the first day of nationals on March 13, Ariella Rogahn-Press ’28 broke the meet record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.22 seconds. John Ihrke ’28 represented the men’s team at the meet, and qualified for finals in the 800 meter.

Over the weekend, the Macalester Scots women’s water polo team competed in the USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate National Championship, hosted by the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (CMS) in Claremont, Calif. On April 25, Macalester faced off against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, the defending national champions, and lost after a hard-fought match. But the Scots rebounded the next day, winning the third-place match in a conference championship rematch against Carthage College.

For the fourth time in program history, and for the first time since a three-peat from 2017-19, Macalester water polo are champions of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). With the win, they qualified for the USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate National Championships in California over the weekend of April 24.
