Effect of electroacupuncture on postoperative delirium in elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: study protocol for a double-center randomized controlled trial
Abstract Background: Postoperative delirium (POD) is an acute disorder of attention and cognition, frequently observed as a complication in elderly individuals undergoing major surgery. Patients undergoing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) are particularly vulnerable due to advanced age and comorbidities. Electroacupuncture (EA), as a non-pharmacological intervention, may attenuate neuroinflammation and cerebral injury, potentially reducing the risk of POD.
Prognostic implications of genetic and transcriptomic abnormalities in MDS according to IPSS-R, IPSS-M, and the International Consensus Classification
Abstract Cytogenetic abnormalities and recurrent gene mutations are central to the biology and prognosis of myelodysplastic syndromes/neoplasms (MDS); however, the significance of patients without detectable genomic lesions remains unclear. In this retrospective analysis of 758 patients with primary MDS, the participants were stratified according to the presence of gene mutations and/or cytogenetic abnormalities.

Elucidation of the Structure of Pseudorubriflordilactone B by Chemical Synthesis
Rubriflordilactone B (1) is a schinortriterpenoid isolated by Sun and colleagues, which possesses a tetrasubstituted benzene moiety and eight stereocenters. The previous synthesis of 1 by Li and co-workers uncovered the existence of its naturally occurring stereoisomer “pseudorubriflordilactone B”. Here we report a collaborative study by the two groups that elucidates the structure of pseudorubriflordilactone B to be 16,17-bis-epi-rubriflordilactone B (26).
Renal Excretion of Dabigatran: The Potential Role of Multidrug and Toxin Extrusion (MATE) Proteins
Following oral administration, dabigatran etexilate (DABE) is rapidly hydrolyzed to its active form, dabigatran. DABE, but not dabigatran, presents as a P-glycoprotein (P-gp) substrate and has increasingly been used as a probe drug. Therefore, although dosed as DABE, a P-gp drug–drug interaction (DDI) is reported as a dabigatran plasma concentration ratio (perpetrator versus placebo).
Therapeutic targeting of BRCA1 and TP53 mutant breast cancer through mutant p53 reactivation
Abstract Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive subset for which effective therapeutic approaches are needed. A significant proportion of TNBC patients harbor either germline or somatic mutations in BRCA1, or epigenetic silencing of BRCA1, which renders them deficient in DNA repair. Virtually all BRCA1 deficient breast cancers harbor mutations in TP53 suggesting that inactivation of p53 is a requirement for tumor progression in the setting of BRCA1 deficiency.
Retrospective analysis of frontline treatment efficacy in elderly patients with diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma
From January 2011 to December 2015, 26 patients received BR and 34 RD‐R‐CHOP. No significant difference was found in clinical background comparisons. The overall response rate was 50% and 79.4% for BR and RD‐R‐CHOP, respectively (P = .027). Compared with patients in RD‐R‐CHOP, those in BR had a lower complete remission rate (42.3% vs 70.6%, P = .036), higher progressive disease rate (38.5% vs 8.8%, P = .01), and poorer median overall survival (11.2 months vs 39 months, P = .035).
Elevated Fasting Blood Glucose Is Predictive of Poor Outcome in Non-Diabetic Stroke Patients: A Sub-Group Analysis of SMART
Although increasing evidence suggests that hyperglycemia following acute stroke adversely affects clinical outcome, whether the association between glycaemia and functional outcome varies between stroke patients with\without pre-diagnosed diabetes remains controversial.
