Discovery of saltiness-enhancing peptides from Hypsizygus marmoreus via virtual screening, multisensory evaluation, electronic tongue, and molecular simulation
Abstract This study applied an integrated strategy combining sensory-guided screening, machine learning, and bioinformatics to identify saltiness-enhancing peptides from Hypsizygus marmoreus. Their saltiness-enhancing effect was confirmed by sensory evaluation and electronic tongue analysis. Three peptides (ASHGEGF, GDDWT, and LDDGF) exhibited synergistic or additive effects, increasing both the perceived intensity and the duration of saltiness in NaCl solutions.
Understanding social insurance contribution evasion through evolutionary game theory: insights from China - Humanities and Social Sciences Communications
Abstract Social insurance contribution evasion is a pervasive issue, particularly in China, with significant socioeconomic repercussions. This study develops a tripartite evolutionary game model involving local governments, enterprises, and employees to explore evolutionarily stable strategies (ESS) under various scenarios.
The effectiveness of child policies to boost child quality and quantity in the PAYG pension system - Humanities and Social Sciences Communications
Abstract This paper constructs an overlapping generations model to examine the effects of child policies and explore the policy design regarding policy support and the policy mix. We find that child allowances and educational subsidies have opposing effects on fertility and human capital growth, but they all have an inverted U-shaped relationship with pay-as-you-go pensions.
Dietary polyphenols for tumor therapy: bioactivities, nano-therapeutic systems and delivery strategies
Dietary polyphenols for tumor therapy: bioactivities, nano-therapeutic systems and delivery strategies Various dietary polyphenols have demonstrated potent anti-tumor properties and are being evaluated as potential adjuncts in cancer treatment.
Vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser with subwavelength photonic double heterostructures
Control of transverse modes in the oxide-confined vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) is a key issue. We demonstrate a VCSEL with a double heterostructure high-contrast grating (HCG) as the top mirror to control the transverse mode characteristics. Compared with the common HCG–VCSEL with a uniform HCG, theoretically the proposed double heterostructure HCG–VCSEL can suppress the higher-order transverse modes.

Structural Evolution of Lanthanum Hydroxides during Long-Term Phosphate Mitigation: Effect of Nanoconfinement
Lanthanum (La)-based materials are effective in removing phosphate (P) from water to prevent eutrophication. Compared to their bulky analogues, La(OH)3 nanoparticles exhibit a higher P removal efficiency and a more stable P removal ability when spatially confined inside the host. Consequently, the understanding of the nanoconfinement effects on the long-term evolution of La–P structures is crucial for their practical use in P sequestration and recycle, which, however, is still missing.
Establishment of an immunofiltration strip for the detection of 17β-estradiol based on the photothermal effect of black phosphorescence
Establishment of an immunofiltration strip for the detection of 17β-estradiol based on the photothermal effect of black phosphorescence Recently, the photothermal effect of nanomaterials has opened the door for new appealing strategy, which would generate a promising and powerful tool when combined with immunoassay. As a new kind of nanomaterial, black phosphorus (BP) has aroused widespread interest.
