Mineralogical and geochemical provenance reference for turquoise from the Teghout Cu–Mo deposit in Armenia
Abstract Turquoise from the Teghout Cu–Mo porphyry deposit (Lori Province, northern Armenia) forms veinlets and nodules in the supergene zone with quartz, Fe–Mn oxides, jarosite, barite and clay minerals, locally chalcanthite and gypsum.
Cryo-EM Structure of the TRPC1/5 Heteromer Enables Design of Antidepressant and Anxiolytic Drug with Reduced Side Effects
|
Abstract The TRPC1/5 heteromer exhibits electrophysiological and ligand-binding properties distinct from TRPC5 homomers, enabling tissue-specific cellular regulation. Here we present the cryo-EM structure of the TRPC1/5 heterotetramer at 2.8 Å resolution, revealing an asymmetric assembly of three TRPC5 subunits around one TRPC1 subunit.

Evaluating literary translation by large language models: a multidimensional quality assessment of Shen Congwen’s Border Town
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) have exhibited remarkable abilities in understanding and generating human language, which is applied in transferring languages. However, the translation of literary works presents unique challenges. The translation quality of literary works generated by LLMs is yet to be explored and tested. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the quality of translations produced by various LLMs in comparison to a well-established human-translated work.

Vertical Transportation Diversity of Petroleum Pollutants under Groundwater Fluctuations and the Instructions for Remediation Strategy
Abstract : Based on the information from an actual petroleum-contaminated site, a one-dimensional soil column was used to examine the vertical transportation diversities of different petroleum components under the influence of water table fluctuations, and the results revealed the following: (1) There were two obvious pollution accumulation zones under the condition of water table fluctuations: (i) The pollution infiltration zone dominated by the residual phase was formed at the leakage...

Long-term smoking alters abundance of over half of the proteome in bronchoalveolar lavage cell in smokers with normal spirometry, with effects on molecular pathways associated with COPD
Here we used high-resolution iTRAQ based proteomics to investigate the BAL cell proteome of smokers with normal lung function (Smokers) vs. healthy never-smokers (Never-smokers), with the aim to explore alterations in specific proteins and molecular pathways occurring in response to long-term cigarette smoking in otherwise healthy individuals.
Metabolomics analysis identifies sex-associated metabotypes of oxidative stress and the autotaxin-lysoPA axis in COPD
AbstractChronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a heterogeneous disease and a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide.
Metabolomics profiling identifies female-selective upregulation of oxidative stress in individuals with COPD
AbstractBackground: COPD is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality that evidences gender dependency with higher mortality in women, even after correction for smoking. We hypothesized that metabolomics-based profiling of individuals with COPD would identify gender-based mechanisms in the pathobiology of COPD.Methods: Serum was obtained from healthy never-smokers (n=38), smokers with normal lung function (n=40), and individuals with COPD (GOLD I-II/A-B, n=37).
