Retrospective competing risk analysis of cancer specific and other cause death in older patients with major salivary gland carcinoma
Abstract Older patients with major salivary gland carcinoma may face substantial mortality from causes other than cancer. We conducted a retrospective population-based cohort study using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to characterize competing cancer-specific death (CSD) and other-cause death (OCD) among patients aged ≥ 75 years diagnosed during 2004–2018.
Two decades of immunogenic cell death research: a bibliometric analysis of the 100 most cited publications
Abstract Background: Immunogenic cell death (ICD) represents a pivotal concept linking tumor cell demise with the activation of adaptive antitumor immunity. Since the concept was formalized around 2005, ICD has substantially reshaped research in tumor immunology and cancer therapy. However, bibliometric mapping and structured interpretation of the influential literature that has shaped this field remain limited.
Association between admission blood urea nitrogen and clinical outcomes in patients with large ischemic stroke undergoing endovascular treatment
Abstract Background: This study aimed to investigate the association between admission blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and clinical outcomes in patients with large ischemic stroke undergoing endovascular treatment (EVT). Methods: This study was a subgroup analysis of a prospective, multicenter cohort study. 472 patients with large ischemic stroke undergoing EVT from the original database were included. Patients were stratified into three groups based on admission BUN levels.
LSD1 inhibitor, TAS1440, disrupts INSM1-LSD1 complex activating tumor-suppressive pathways via transcriptional reprogramming in neuroendocrine SCLC
|
Abstract Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is aggressive with limited treatment options, requiring new therapies. Lysine-specific histone demethylase 1 A (LSD1) maintains neuroendocrine state by repressing NOTCH/TGF-β signaling; their reactivation suppresses proliferation and induces differentiation. However, mechanisms of LSD1 inhibition and chemoresistance remain unclear.

Triple‐Shell Hollow FeS/MoS2 Heterostructure Anodes: Synergistic Effects of Built‐In Electric Field on Ultra‐Stable Sodium Storage
1 Introduction Sodium ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted promising attention in recent years due to their commercial cost and abundant natural resources, as well as their higher safety compared with lithium ion batteries.[1-3] Unfortunately, current graphite anodes are not ideal for SIBs due to the larger radius of the Na+ (≈0.102 nm).[4-6] The large ionic radius also causes delayed Na+ transportation, which has a significant impact on the electrochemical performance of the anodes.

SLC15A3 plays a crucial role in pulmonary fibrosis by regulating macrophage oxidative stress - Cell Death & Differentiation
Abstract Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fatal and irreversible disease with few effective treatments. Alveolar macrophages (AMs) are involved in the development of IPF from the initial stages due to direct exposure to air and respond to external oxidative damage (a major inducement of pulmonary fibrosis). Oxidative stress in AMs plays an indispensable role in promoting fibrosis development.

Assessment of marine protected areas in the East China Sea using a management effectiveness tracking tool
1 Introduction Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are “any intertidal or subtidal areas preserved by legal or other effective means, together with their overlying waters and associated flora, fauna, historical and cultural features, to protect part or the entire enclosed environment” (Kelleher, 1999). As such, they are a primary resource for managing, protecting, and restoring marine ecosystems (Hockings, 2003; Turnbull et al., 2021).

Role of hydrogen bonding in hysteresis observed in sorption-induced swelling of soft nanoporous polymers
The molecular model of cellulose used in this work is shown in Fig. 1. As explained in the Methods section, our molecular models consist of a few cellulose chains made up of about 20 to 40 β(1 → 4) linked D-glucose units which are grown randomly (unit by unit) in an orthorhombic simulation box with periodic boundary conditions to avoid surface effects.
Central Doping of a Foreign Atom into the Silver Cluster for Catalytic Conversion of CO2 toward C−C Bond Formation
Clusters with an exact number of atoms are of particular interest in catalysis. Their catalytic behaviors can be potentially altered with the addition or removal of a single atom. Now the effects of doping with a single foreign atom (Au, Pd, and Pt) into the core of an Ag cluster with 25 atoms on the catalytic properties are explored, where the foreign atom is protected by 24 Ag atoms (Au@Ag , Pd@Ag , and Pt@Ag ).
Superconductivity with twofold symmetry in Bi2Te3/FeTe0.55Se0.45 heterostructures
Topological superconductors are an interesting and frontier topic in condensed matter physics. In the superconducting state, an order parameter will be established with the basic or subsidiary symmetry of the crystalline lattice. In doped Bi Se or Bi Te with a basic threefold symmetry, it was predicted, however, that bulk superconductivity with order parameters of twofold symmetry may exist because of the presence of odd parity.
