NEWPORT BEACH, CA — King tides will hit the shores of Orange County starting Saturday, bringing with it hazardous waves and the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas. " Areas most susceptible to flooding include Newport Island, Balboa Island, Finley Tract, Lido Village, Balboa Village, LaFayette Avenue, the Peninsula and portions of the Marcus River and Lake Avenue area," according to a dispatch from the Newport Beach City Manager's Office.

Mountain Biker Injured On Laguna Niguel Trail; Firefighters Respond

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — One person was injured while mountain biking through a Laguna Niguel trail and required rescue, firefighters said this week. The incident was reported earlier this week on Itchy Sticks Trail in Laguna Niguel, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. "Firefighters, paramedics, park rangers, Laguna Beach Fire personnel and Helicopter 4 worked together to access, stabilize and safely transport the patient to the hospital," the OCFA said in a statement.
