Hi, friends. Every once in a while, life hands you a moment that reminds you why real love is worth celebrating. I had one of those moments this week, and I wanted to share it with you. A Love Story Twenty‑Two Years in the Making Twenty‑two years ago, my husband and I went on our very first date. I’d just stepped away from a relationship that was supposed to end in marriage but didn’t. Honestly, I wasn’t looking for anything serious.

There’s a quiet kind of ministry that doesn’t happen on a stage, behind a pulpit, or in front of a crowd. It happens at a desk, in a notebook, on a laptop, or in the margins of a journal. It happens when a Christian creative chooses to show up with words, even when they’re tired, uncertain, or wondering if anyone will ever read them. Writing is ministry. Not because it’s perfect or polished. But because God uses words to heal hearts.

Recently, while watching the Lifetime movie, Long Lost Daughter on Amazon Prime, I was unexpectedly pulled back into a memory I hadn’t revisited in years. I was a grown woman in graduate school, but my parents still treated me as though I were a child who needed correction. I was floundering in a series of bad decisions that involved drinking, smoking, and sex outside of marriage with a man who was basically an emotional vampire. I’m not proud of any of these things.
