On July 22, the Trump Administration and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement for the U.S. to provide the Saudis with nuclear material and equipment for a civilian nuclear program. In announcing the signing, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said, “Rest assured, these agreements uphold the highest standards of nuclear safety and nonproliferation, while relying on the world’s best nuclear technology and scientists, designed right here in the United States.” That is a blatant lie.

Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi penned an op-ed for the French outlet Le Monde on Tuesday. The article was a call for a new political and security architecture in the Gulf region, and served as a clear indictment not only for the current, disastrous war of choice that the United States and Israel initiated against Iran, but of forty-seven years of Western policy in the Gulf region.
