What was your first job as a journalist?
I started my own website in January of 2015 where I could share my film reviews.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have! But mostly just as a toy. When I was a kid my mom had a typewriter before home computers were really a thing.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I mostly use WordPress, Microsoft Word, and Google Docs for my writing. I also use Monday.com to help me stay organized and on-schedule.
What's your favorite social network?
It used to be Twitter, but now I find myself spending more time on Instagram.
Why did you become a journalist?
I'm passionate about horror and felt there weren't enough voices in that space, especially female voices.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Not one story, but I'm most proud of my Uterus Horror column on Certified Forgotten. It's my baby and I've worked very hard on it.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Networking is a great way to not only make friends in the industry, but it often will open you up to new opportunities.
What's your favorite drink?
Non-alcoholic: usually iced tea. Alcoholic: Crater Lake vodka tonic.
