Films about men entrenched in the manosphere have become increasingly popular over the past few years. Adding to that rising subgenre is a new film directed by Aaron Harvey (Into the Ashes, The Neighbor), who also wrote the film with Jonathan Croom. The film is Come With Me, and it follows a blue collar man with a stable job and a live-in girlfriend.

PAM CUT spoiled Portland residents by hosting a screening of one of the most anticipated films of the year, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, at the Tomorrow Theater. As a delightful added bonus, the screening also included a Q&A with writer and director Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow, We’re All Going to the Worlds Fair) and star Hannah Einbinder (Hacks, Seekers of Infinite Love). The film follows a young filmmaker tasked with rebooting a controversial 80s slasher franchise.

PHFF 2026: Short Films Block 4

While the Saturday evening block of short films at Portland Horror Film Festival 2026 wasn’t the last block of the fest, it was the last block that I screened. These five short horror films are very different from each other, making for an interesting block. Not to mention, this block had some of the most haunting, hilarious, and memorable stories to tell.

What was your first job as a journalist?

I started my own website in January of 2015 where I could share my film reviews.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I have! But mostly just as a toy. When I was a kid my mom had a typewriter before home computers were really a thing.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I mostly use WordPress, Microsoft Word, and Google Docs for my writing. I also use Monday.com to help me stay organized and on-schedule.
